Washington was in his 11th professional season when he finally reached the ML for
good in 1981, having played for nine different minor league clubs, one team in Mexico,
and 10 games with the Dodgers in 1977. He was a utility infielder for the Twins until
his release before the 1987 season, then played briefly with the Orioles and Indians.
In 1984, he hit a career-high .294.
