Warner spent 60 years in organized baseball. In the major leagues, he was Detroit's
third baseman in 1926-27 and a utility infielder thereafter. He coached for the Cubs'
Los Angeles farm club for 12 seasons and was a West Coast scout until retiring in
1982. In 1926 he won a $25 bet from Ty Cobb by beating him in a footrace.
