Wallach became Montreal's third baseman when Larry Parrish was traded to Texas. Wallach tied for the most RBI by a third baseman in 1982 and set Expos' sophomore records in homers (28) and RBI (97). He led NL third basemen in putouts three straight years (1983-85) and assists, total chances, and double plays in 1984 and 1985. The Gold Glove fielder had a career batting season in 1987. Taking over the cleanup spot from injured Hubie Brooks, Wallach set a club record with 123 RBI and led the NL with 42 doubles. He is among Montreal's all-time leaders in homers, doubles, and RBI. FROM THE BASEBALL CHRONOLOGY
» April 29, 1981: Philadelphia's Steve Carlton strikes out the side (Tim Raines, Jerry Manuel, and Tim Wallach) in the first inning of a 6–2 win over the Expos to become the first lefthander in ML history (and 6th pitcher overall) to record 3,000 career strikeouts.

» April 29, 1986: Reds pitcher Mario Soto ties the major-league record by surrendering home runs to Andre Dawson, Hubie Brooks, Tim Wallach, and Mike Fitzgerald in the 4th inning of a 7–4 loss to the Expos.

» May 4, 1987: Tim Wallach hits three home runs and drives in six runs, but Montreal loses at Atlanta, 10–7.

» December 24, 1992: The Expos trade 3B Tim Wallach to the Dodgers in exchange for minor league SS Tim Barker.

» December 5, 1995: The Angels sign free agent 3B Tim Wallach.

» April 19, 1996: At Anaheim, California's Mark Langston picks up a complete game win, 4–3 over the Tigers. Detroit's Mark Parent and the Angels' Tim Wallach both homer, but neither is over the left field fence where actor Charlie Sheen has purchased 2,615 seats for himself and three friends. Sheen, an inveterate sports memorabilia collector, was hoping for a home run in his vicinity. "I didn't want to crawl over the paying public," said Sheen after shelling out $6,500 for the seats.
