Teammate Ted Radcliffe called Negro Leaguer Ted Trent "one of the best curveball pitchers that ever lived." Trent was the righthanded ace of the St. Louis Stars teams that won three pennants in the late 1920s, and of the Chicago American Giants in the 1930s. His best recorded season was 1928, when he led the St. Louis staff in virtually every pitching category and topped the league with a 17-4 mark. Available information gives him a 64-33 career record. He pitched in four consecutive East-West all-star games from 1934 to 1937, starting the '34 and '37 contests for the West. (PG)
