A regular only in his first season, Torres had his best year with the Padres in 1975 (.259, five HR in 352 at-bats). The Mexican glove man was(/-h)h)h)sent to Cleveland with Johnny Grubb and Fred Kendall in exchange for All-Star George Hendrick in December 1976; the Indians then traded Torres straight-up for the Blue Jays' John Lowenstein. His father, Epitacio Torres, was a minor league manager. (JFC)
