Griffey was about to become a free agent. » June 29, 1989: The Padres GM Jack McKeon trades his son-in-law, pitcher Greg Booker to the Twins for P Fred Toliver. Booker had been booed in every appearance, but will make just six appearances for the Twins before being sold to the Giants at the end of the season.
