Oakland defeats Cleveland, 12–2. Down by nine runs in the 8th inning, the Indians bring OF Mark Whiten in to pitch. The strong-armed Whiten allows one run on a double, HBP (Scott Spiezio), and two walks, but also strikes out three batters (Mike Blowers, Miguel Tejada, and Mike Neill). He becomes the only player in major league history, with at least one inning pitched, to get every out with a strikeout. » June 11, 1999:
Oakland defeats the Dodgers, 12-6, as SS Miguel Tejada strokes three home runs and drives home five runs. He becomes just the 10th player to have a 3-homer game while playing shortstop throughout.

At the SkyDome, the A's outslug the Blue Jays, 14–8, as seven homers leave the park. Miguel Tejada hits a 3-run home run, the 6th game in a row he's homered at the SkyDome. Jason Giambi and Carlos Delgado match homers, and Brian Simmons and Darrin Fletcher go back-to-back.
» June 30, 2001: Oakland defeats Texas, 15-4, as SS Miguel Tejada hits three home runs and a single and drives home eight runs. Tejada had gone 26 games without a homer before hitting a grand slam in the 1st, followed by a 3-run shot in the 2nd. He adds a solo in the 9th. Erik Hiljus is the benefactor, winning his first ML decision. Hiljus, also strikes out four batters in the 7th.
» August 2, 2001: The A's make it easy for Mark Mulder, giving him an 11–0 lead after 14 innings. With Jermaine Dye, Miguel Tejada and Olmedo Saenz homering, they roll to a 17–4 pasting of Cleveland.

The Mariners lose their 3rd straight game for the 1st time all season, falling to the A's, 11–2. It also marks the first series the Mariners have lost on the road this year, ending their major-league record streak of 29 consecutive road series without a loss. Erik Hiljus (4-0) is the winner. Miguel Tejada and Eric Chavez hits solo home runs in the 7th as both reach the 100 RBI mark.
» September 29, 2001: The A's defeat the Mariners, 8–4, as SS Miguel Tejada hits for the cycle, capping his night with a 7th–inning grand slam. Seattle OF Ichiro Suzuki gets his 234th hit of the season to set a new ML rookie record. The previous mark had been set by Shoeless Joe Jackson in 1911. Suzuki also ties the AL record for singles in a season (187) with the hit. Wade Boggs performed the feat in 1985.
» July 24, 2002:
Oakland defeats Anaheim, 5–1, as Miguel Tejada hits his 22nd home run of the season. It is the 117th round–tripper of his career, breaking Eddie Joost's career record for an Athletic SS.
» August 6, 2002: The Athletics down the Red Sox, 9–1, but SS Miguel Tejada's 24–game hitting streak comes to an end. The streak began the day after the All–Star break, July 11, and is the second–longest in the majors this year behind Luis Castillo's
