FROM THE BASEBALL CHRONOLOGY
» April 19, 1998: Florida Marlins rookie 3B Kevin Millar makes his first major league start against the Diamondbacks. On the first pitch he sees from Jeff Suppan, Millar swings and hits a foul ball. In doing so, he breaks the hamate bone in his left hand, sending him to the DL. Florida goes on to defeat Arizona, 4–3.

» September 27, 1999: With each of the Tigers wearing the uniform numbers of all-time Detroit players at their position (OF Gabe Kapler, standing in for Ty Cobb, wears no number) the Tigers defeat the Royals, 8-2, in the last game ever played at Tiger Stadium. Rob Fick's grand slam in the 8th brings the capacity crowd of 43,356 to its feet. Luis Polonia and Karim Garcia also homer as Brian Moehler beats Jeff Suppan.

» June 30, 2002: In a 13–1 drubbing by the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium, Padres second baseman D'Angelo Jimenez comes in to pitch with two outs in the seventh inning. He retires the four batters he faces. But Jeff Suppan allows one run in seven innings, and Raul Ibanez uses a home run and triple to drive in four runs for the Royals.
