Stallcup was the Reds' regular shortstop from 1948 through 1951, and led NL shortstops in fielding in 1951. Traded to the Cardinals, who had Solly Hemus at shortstop, in early 1952, Stallcup was soon out of the majors. In 1949 he had only nine bases on balls in 575 at-bats. (SFS)
