» June 7, 1910: In his major league debut, the Phillies Eddie Stack stops Chicago, 1–0, on three hits. The Cubs sold Stack to the Phils on May 26. Smoke will pitch three complete-game victories between the 14th and 22nd, but will end the year at 6–7.
» September 1, 1911: In game one of a Giants' doubleheader, Christy Mathewson gives up 10 hits but beats the Phils 3–2. In game 2, Rube Marquard one-hits the Phils 2–0, walks none, and fans 10. The Phils' "Smoke" Stack and Marquard match zeros for seven innings, but a walk, single and two errors bring home two Giant runs.
» July 25, 1912: Fleet OF Max Carey goes hitless, but steals four bases and scores five runs in the Pirates 12–3 win over host Brooklyn. Carey will lead the NL in thefts 10 times, and retire with 738. Owen Wilson has a triple for Pittsburgh, off Eddie Stack, one of 36 he'll hit this year for a ML record.
» May 31, 1913:
Brooklyn's Eddie "Smoke" Stack beats the Braves for the 3rd time this season, shutting them out, 2–0.
» August 13, 1913:
In a great pickup, the Cubs send P Lew Richie to Kansas City (AA) for Hippo Vaughn. Vaughn, who had pitched five years with little success in the AL with New York and Washington, will be a workhorse for Chicago. Tomorrow the Cubs will ship 33-year-old Ed Reulbach (1-3) to Brooklyn for P Eddie Stack and cash.
» August 21, 1913: The Giants increase their NL lead to 10 games by smoking Eddie Stack and the Cubs, 8–2. Christy Mathewson rolls to his 22nd win, allowing eight hits. Johnny Evers collects three hits, including a homer in the 5th.
