» November 22, 1992: The American League names Milwaukee SS Pat Listach the Rookie of the Year. Listach was recalled on April seven to replace the injured Bill Spiers and hit .290. He was the first Brewer to steal 50 bases in a season.

» June 14, 1998: Houston scores two runs off Reds closer Jeff Shaw in the 9th, and three more off him in the 10th to win, 6–3. Billy Spiers starts the rally in the 9th with a double and hits a 2–run homer off him in the 10th, his 4th hit of the game. Shaw, who enters the game with an 0.97 ERA, gives up seven hits, a walk, and five runs.

» October 1, 1998: Houston evens its series against the Padres, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the 9th on Bill Spiers' single, his 3rd hit of the game.

» September 24, 1999: The Astros defeat the Brewers, 9-4. Astros OF Bill Spiers is attacked by a fan in the 6th inning of the contest. His teammates leave the bench and bullpen to aid Spiers, who suffers a welt under his left eye and a bloody nose. He remains in the game, however. His assailant is charged with two counts of assault after being taken into custody.

» April 7, 2000: Berley W. Visgar is sentenced to 90 days in jail, and fined $1,000, for jumping OF Bill Spiers in a game played last September 24.
