Sisti was a Braves regular at third and second base from 1940 to 1942 before being called to military service. In 1946, he sharpened his skills with Indianapolis of the American Association, batting .343 to win TSN Minor League Player of the Year honors. Returning to the majors, he became one of the top utility men of his day ; in the Braves' 1948 pennant-winning season, he spelled both Alvin Dark and Eddie Stanky in the middle infield. Sisti had a small acting role as a coach in the movie The Natural. (RTM)
