FROM THE BASEBALL CHRONOLOGY
» June 3, 1993: Seattle selects SS Alex Rodriguez of Westminster Christian HS in Miami with the 1st pick in the amateur draft. Rodriguez hit .417 with 17 homers and 90 stolen bases. The Brewers get pitchers Jeff D'Amico and Kelly Wunsch with two 1st round picks. Both will prove injury prone, but they do take SS Mark Loretta on the 7th round. The Phils take Scott Rolen on the 2nd round; the Braves select Kevin Millwood (11th) and John Rocker (18th), while the Indians take Richie Sexson (24th).

» August 31, 1998: Richie Sexson hit a 2–run single in Cleveland's 10–run first inning, as the Tribe scalps Oakland, 15–6. Sexton hits his 4th homer in three days, and Manny Ramirez hits his 34th homer and knocks in five runs for starter Dave Burba. Joey Cora, acquired hours before the game from Seattle for David Bell, scores two runs and drives in 2.

» August 31, 1999: Down 12-4, the Indians rally for 10 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to defeat the Angels, 14-12. 1B Richie Sexson gets four hits and drives home five runs for the Tribe. This is the 3rd time this season that the Indians have rallied from an 8-run deficit to win, a ML record.

» July 28, 2000: The Indians obtain pitchers Bob Wickman, Steve Woodard, and Jason Bere from the Brewers in exchange for slugging 1B Richie Sexson, pitchers Paul Rigdon and Kane Davis, and a player to be named.

» April 6, 2001: A crowd of 42,024, including President George W. Bush, is on hand for the first game ever played in Milwaukee's Miller Park. After Bush tosses out the first ball, the Brewers come from behind on Richie Sexson's 2-run home run in the 8th to defeat the Reds, 5-4. Reliever David Weathers takes the win.

» May 15, 2001: The Brewers pound out 22 hits as they defeat the Phillies, 14-10. The Brewskis almost blow an 8-run lead before going ahead in the 10th inning on Richie Sexson's double. Tyler Houston gets five hits, including a double, for Milwaukee, while Devon White hits a grand slam.

» September 25, 2001: The Brewers blast six home runs as they defeat the Diamondbacks, 9–4. Jeromy Burnitz and Richie Sexson each hit three homers for Milwaukee, becoming the first teammates ever to accomplish the feat in the same game. Twice they hit back-to-back home runs, the 2nd time teammates have done it this year.

» April 18, 2002: Milwaukee fires manager Davey Lopes and hires coach Jerry Royster as interim manager in his place. In their first game under Royster, the Brewers beat the Cardinals, 7–5, as Richie Sexson drives home all seven runs on two home runs and a triple.
