Schroeder enjoyed career-highs in BA (.332), HR (14), and RBI (42) while sharing the Brewers catching duties with B.J. Surhoff in 1987, but slumped badly to .156 in 41 games in 1988 and was traded to the Angels in December for Gus Polidor. In 1980-82 Schroeder led three different minor leagues in strikeouts.
