Schneider lost a league-high 19 games for the 1915 Reds, but in 1917 went 20-19 (1.98). He struggled with his control, leading the NL in walks in both 1917 and '18, and was sent back to the minors after a brief fling with the 1919 Yankees. A good-hitting pitcher (.221), he gradually converted to the outfield. With Vernon in the Pacific Coast League on May 11, 1923, he belted Salt Lake City pitching for five home runs and a double, knocking in 14 runs. He continued playing in the minors until 1926. (LRD)
