Scarsella was the Reds' regular first baseman as a rookie in 1936, batting .313. The lefthanded hitter led the NL with nine pinch hits in 1937. In need of pitching, the Reds traded Scarsella to Boston for Milkman Jim Turner in December 1939. (GB)
