» September 10, 1989: Five days after hitting a home run for the Yankees in a 12–2 win over the Mariners, Deion Sanders returns a punt 68 yards for a touchdown in his NFL debut with the Atlanta Falcons. Sanders hit .234 in 14 games for New York this year in his first attempt at playing two sports professionally.

» July 15, 1990: At New York, Bo Jackson slugs three straight home runs, the 3rd his career 100th, then separates his shoulder in the 6th inning diving for a line drive off the bat of Yankee Deion Sanders. Sanders ends up with an inside-the-park home run but Kansas City takes home a 10–7 win. Jackson will be out for six weeks.

» September 6, 1990: At Yankee Stadium, Deion Sanders strikes out in the 6th for the Yankees ending his rookie (14 games in 1989) season with a .158 average in 57 games. Neon then shakes hands in the dugout, and heads for Atlanta to join the Falcons. On the 10th, he will return a punt for a TD. California scores six in the 9th to beat the Yanks, 12–6.

» August 7, 1991: Deion Sanders makes the conversion from baseball to football, practicing with the Atlanta Falcons for the first time. Neon Deion hits .304 in 97 games with the Braves, and his 14 triples will lead the majors.

» September 25, 1991: Falcons defensive back Deion Sanders rejoins the Atlanta Braves for the remainder of the season to help the Braves' pennant drive. Sanders still wants to play in the Falcons' game on the 29th against New Orleans.

» October 20, 1992: The Blue Jays take the World Series lead with a 3–2 win over Atlanta on Candy Maldonado's bases–loaded single in the 9th inning. Duane Ward gets credit for the victory in relief of Juan Guzman, and Joe Carter and Kelly Gruber homer for Toronto. In the 4th inning, Blue Jays' OF Devon White's sensational catch nearly results in a triple play. Atlanta OF Deion Sanders was ruled safe on the play, but replays show he should have been the 3rd out. Braves manager is ejected from the game in the 9th, becoming the 1st manager to be thrown out of a Series game since 1985. By starting in RF, Toronto's Carter becomes the 1st player to start the 1st three games of a World Series at three different positions. He started Game One at 1B and Game Two in LF.

» May 26, 1993: Cincinnati P Tim Belcher hurls a 1-hit, 4-0 shutout over the Braves. A 1st inning double by Deion Sanders is Atlanta's only hit.

» May 29, 1994: The Braves trade OF Deion Sanders to the Reds in exchange for OF Roberto Kelly and minor league P Roger Etheridge.

» July 21, 1995: The Reds trade OF Deion Sanders, pitching prospects John Roper, Ricky Pickett and Scott Service, and IF Dave McCarty to the Giants for pitchers Mark Portugal and Dave Burba, and OF Darren Lewis.

» April 30, 1997: Fred McGriff homers twice and Michael Tucker has five hits to lead the Braves to 12–3 win over the stumbling Reds. The Braves complete the first 19-win April in ML history. The Reds, losers of their 12th in 14 contests, get three hits from Deion Sanders, who raises his average to .385. Neon also swipes his 19th base.

» June 20, 1997: For their game against the Cards, the Reds bring up Aaron Boone from Indianapolis. That's the good news. The bad news is they send brother Bret Boone (.205) down to make room for Aaron. Aaron has an RBI and a stolen base in his ML debut as the Reds win, 4–2. He also has his 1st ejection for throwing a helmet. Deion Sanders has a double and home run and his 31st stolen base, high in the ML.

» September 5, 1997: OF Deion Sanders leaves the Reds to join the Dallas Cowboys for the remainder of the season. Sanders is leading the National League is stolen bases with 56, but will be overtaken by Pittsburgh's Tony Womack.
