Ross was a long reliever in his seven NL seasons, averaging one save a year. He had a 2.45 ERA in 60 appearances for the 1972 Padres. Made a starter by California in 1976, he recorded a 3.00 ERA but finished 8-16, thanks to the Angels' .235 batting average. (JCA)
