On June 23, 1946 back-to-back inside-the-park homers by Rickert and Eddie Waitkus were a ML first, but the Cubs still lost 15-10. The Braves rescued Rickert from the minors late in 1948 when slugger Jeff Heath broke his ankle, and the much-traveled Rickert homered in Game Four of the WS. (DAS)
