Quick is one of the few umpires ever to eject a trainer from a game. Rain was falling in the sixth inning of a game between Cincinnati and Atlanta on May 1, 1985. Reds trainer Larry Starr called, "Why don't you stop the game before someone gets hurt?" Quick's reply: "Why don't you take a walk? You're out of here." (RTM)
