Pruiett was a wild fireballer bought by the Red Sox from Dallas (Texas League) after the 1906 season. He won only four games in the majors, but three of them were shutouts. In 1907 Pruiett led AL relievers in appearances (18) and ERA (2.01), but went 2-10 in his starts. He dropped to 1-7 in 1908 despite a 1.99 ERA. (NLM)
