Coming off two knee operations, Poquette was the Royals' Rookie of the Year in 1976 when he batted .302; he set a club record that June 15 by scoring five runs in a game. The aggressive line-drive hitter was a platooned outfielder on Kansas City's 1976-78 AL West division winners. (FJO)

» June 15, 1976: No field goals today as Tom Poquette leads the Royals to a 21–7 win over the Tigers. Poquette scores five runs on a two singles, two doubles and a home run.

» May 14, 1977: Jim Colborn hurls a no-hit game as Kansas City beats Texas, 6–0. It is the first no-hitter at Royals Stadium by a KC hurler. Darrell Porter, who came to the Royals in the trade with Colborn, has a double and triple to back his batterymate. Tom Poquette has a pair of hits and a pair of sparkling catches.
