Coming off two knee operations, Poquette was the Royals' Rookie of the Year in 1976
when he batted .302; he set a club record that June 15 by scoring five runs in a
game. The aggressive line-drive hitter was a platooned outfielder on Kansas City's
1976-78 AL West division winners.
