Pina was a journeyman reliever whose best season came with the last-place 1972 Rangers, for whom he saved a career-high 15 games. Traded to the A's after the season for Mike Epstein, he went 6-3 with eight saves in helping them to a World Championship. He went home to Mexico after being released in 1975, and pitched a 3-0 perfect game in the Mexican League in 1978. (WOR)
