Signed as a shortstop for a reported $64,000 bonus, Peterson hit well in the Texas League and was used primarily as a pinch hitter for the Giants. He was given a chance to play regularly in the Washington outfield following a 1967 trade, but his .240 BA with only eight home runs put him back on the bench. (MC)
