Peraza was originally a catcher who led his league in fielding in 1982, but hit just .218. Converted to pitching, he had control problems. The Orioles obtained him for Mike Flanagan in a Toronto stretch-run deal in 1987. He missed 1989 with injuries. (JFC)

» August 31st, 1987: The Blue Jays trade minor leaguer Oswaldo Peraza and a player to be named later to the Orioles for veteran lefthander Mike Flanagan, then release Phil Niekro to make room for Flanagan on the roster.
