» September 3, 1907: The Giants and Superbas spilt a doubleheader. New York takes the opener, 2-0, behind Dummy Taylor, then Brooklyn takes the nitecap 1-0, in seven innings, behind the 8-hit pitching of Jim Pastorius. The Superbas score on a single, two walks, and a wild pitch by Christy Mathewson.
» September 13, 1907: At Washington Park, Christy Mathewson tops Jim Pastorius, 2-1, striking out 11 Superbas batters. Dan McGann is 4-for-4 for New York, while teammate Jack Hannifin collects a single, double, triple and two walks in his five at bats.
» September 26, 1908: With the Cubs just a half game in back of New York, Chicago's Ed Reulbach becomes the only pitcher to throw two shutouts in one day, blanking host Brooklyn 5-0 and 3-0. Big Ed allows five hits in the a.m. game, and is even stingier in the afternoon, yielding three hits and a walk. He finishes the afternoon contest in one hour: 12 minutes. Kaiser Wilhelm and Jim Pastorius are the losing pitchers.
» July 28, 1909: Brooklyn's Jim Pastorius no-hits the Phillies until pinch hitter Marty Martel laces a one-out triple in the 9th inning. Pastorius wins 4–0.
» August 23, 1909: With lefthander Jim Pastorius pitching, Brooklyn C Bill Bergen throws out six (erroneously listed as 7) of eight base-stealing Cardinals in a 9-1 St. Louis victory. Bergen's mark is a 20th century high, twice tied in 1915. In the first game of the doubleheader, it was Brooklyn's turn as they swiped six bases in a 7-0 win. The Cards steal two bases.
