Paschal, a swift, hard-hitting outfielder, could have been a regular for any team except the one he was on: the Yankees of the late 1920s with Ruth, Combs, and Meusel. He once pinch hit for Ruth. The Babe had homered in the ninth inning and headed for the clubhouse. The Yankees batted around, and Ruth was nowhere to be found, so Paschal pinch hit for him. (NLM)

» August 16, 1915: In the 2nd game of a doubleheader, Tiger rookie Bernie Boland no hits Cleveland through 26 batters before Ben Paschal singles, his first and only hit of the year. Boland wins, 3–1.

» September 10, 1925: Bob Meusel, Babe Ruth, and Lou Gehrig hit successive homers in the 4th inning of Game One versus the A's, all off Sammy Gray. New York wins, 7–3. Then, Ruth and OF Ben Paschal hit back-to-back homers in the 4th of game 2, but New York loses, 5–4.

» September 22, 1925: The Yankees' Ben Paschal hits two inside-the-park homers, in an 11–6 first-game win over the White Sox at Yankee Stadium. The Sox take the nitecap, 4–2. Paschal will have seven homers this month, a Yankee rookie record for September that will be stand until 1998.
