Parsons was the number-two starter for the last-place Brewers, going 13-17, 3.20 in 1971 and 13-13, 3.91 in 1972. He was named TSN's AL Rookie Pitcher of the Year for his 1971 effort, and was runner-up to Chris Chambliss in the BBWAA vote for Rookie of the Year. (JFC)

» May 1, 1973: Brewers starter Bill Parsons walks the first three A's batters and is lifted for Jim Colborn, who pitches a complete game, 4–3, win. Johnny Briggs drives in all the Milwaukee runs, including a home run in the 9th inning off Blue Moon Odom (0–5), to win it.

» June 20, 1973: Red Sox lead off batters Rick Miller and Reggie Smith belt homers off Milwaukee's Bill Parsons. In 1971, Smith also followed a leadoff homer with one of his own. Bill Lee makes the lead stand up in beating the Brewers' Bill Parsons, 3–2.
