Pankovits was the Orioles' second-round pick in the 1980 June draft but spent almost his entire career in Houston as a utility man, playing every position but pitcher. The Astros did not re-sign him after 1988, and he left the game for good after a two-game stint with the Boston Red Sox two years later. (JFC/JT)
