Palmer was nicknamed Lulu by his sister. He pitched a 7-0 no-hitter for Tidewater (Carolina League) in 1967. Relieving in 81 of his 106 appearances, he went 2-4 lifetime in relief and 3-14 as a starter. When the Yankees dumped Mike Kekich on the Indians after the Kekich-Fritz Peterson wife-swapping incident, they received Palmer in return (6/12/73). (SFS)
