Pag signed for a $70,000 bonus with the Red Sox. After two years as Boston's regular catcher, he was sent to the Pirates in 1963 as part of the trade for slugger Dick Stuart. In 1965 he set a Pirate record for homers by a catcher (17) while leading NL catchers in double plays (14) and fielding percentage (.997). (ME)
