This Dominican went 5-2 in 1987, mostly in middle relief, on the strength of the Blue Jays' ability that year to come from behind. Though Jays pitching coach Al Widmar called the young Nunez "the future of the franchise," he was traded to Chicago in December 1989 for pitcher Paul Kilgus and lasted just one more season in the big leagues.
