Neudecker's balloon chest protector was sent to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. After the outside protector was disallowed in the AL, a grandfather clause left him the last ML umpire to wear the balloon. Neudecker was the plate umpire for Catfish Hunter's perfect game on May 8, 1968. (RTM)
