Dubbed Line Drive by opposing batters who enjoyed facing him, Nelson had more success
as a hitter than as a pitcher. With the A's in 1937, he batted .354 (40-for-113)
with four home runs, and led the AL with nine pinch hits and 38 pinch at-bats. He
wrestled professionally as the Masked Marvel.
