The light-hitting Narron was released by the Mariners after batting .222 with 17 RBI in 76 games in 1981, then was signed by the Angels and spent most of 1982-83 in the Pacific Coast League. He hit .301 with 27 HR and 102 RBI for Edmonton in 1983 to earn a promotion to the Angels, and spent the next three seasons as Bob Boone's backup in California, never hitting higher than .247.
