Books and articles about Eddie Mulligan

Mulligan spent 17 years in the Pacific Coast League and 20 years as president of the California League. His only seasons as a ML regular were 1921-22 as the third baseman succeeding banned Black Sox player Buck Weaver with Chicago. Mulligan never used profanity, and his only ejection in his 25 seasons as a ballplayer came when he called an umpire "a snot." During most of his career he also played professional soccer in the fall and winter. Upon his retirement as California League president, the league established a rookie of the year award in his honor. (BC)
