Morrissey had hard luck. Soon after the rookie joined the 1932 Reds, his child died. In 1933 he played 148 games (by far his most), though hampered by a finger injury. He suffered a broken cheekbone in 1936. He was in the minors in 1939 when he snapped an Achilles tendon, ending his career. (NLM)
