Moore was a righthanded fastballer who walked almost as many as he fanned. Offensively, he hit six home runs despite a .187 batting average. In December 1957 he was traded with Billy Goodman and Tito Francona to the White Sox for lefthander Jack Harshman and Larry Doby. (NLM)

» June 28, 1957: Ray Moore blanks Cleveland 6-0 as the Orioles pitching staff hurls its fourth consecutive shutout, for a new AL mark.

» December 3, 1957: Al Lopez, who traded Larry Doby when he was managing, Cleveland, does it again in Chicago. The Orioles swap P Ray Moore, Billy Goodman, and OF Tito Francona to the White Sox for Doby, pitchers Jack Harshman and Russ Heman, and infielder Jim Marshall.

» June 17, 1959: At Yankee Stadium, Mickey Mantle lashes a Ray Moore 3–0 pitch some 470 feet into the RF bleachers to lead New York to a 7–3 win over the White Sox.
