Dodger manager Wilbert Robinson couldn't bring himself to use a pitcher who didn't have a curveball, so he kept the fastballing Moore on the 1930 staff as a batting practice pitcher. Moore did relieve some in 1931-32, then got a chance to start in two mediocre seasons with the Phillies. (JK)
