Originally a righthanded pitcher, 5'4" Kid Mohler became a lefthanded second baseman because of an injury to his right arm as a teenaged pro rookie. From 1891 through 1914, he played a pro baseball record of 2,871 games at second base - all but three of them in the minors. He attributed his renowned sure-handedness to never wearing a glove. (MC)
