At one time touted as "the next Warren Spahn," McQueen reached the Braves at age 19. After going 0-5 in 1972, he and teammate Jim Breazeale were injured in a head-on car wreck. McQueen spent two months in the hospital with a dislocated hip and sat out the 1973 season. He was unsuccessful in a comeback try with Cincinnati. (PB)
