Three days after no-hitting Omaha for Springfield (American Association) on May 26, 1978, this Dominican was called up to the Cardinals, and one-hit the Mets at Shea Stadium in his first ML start. He went 15-8 in 1979, adding two more one-hitters and two two-hitters. Elbow problems set in during 1980, and he was dumped on the Indians the following November. (NLM)
