Three days after no-hitting Omaha for Springfield (American Association) on May 26,
1978, this Dominican was called up to the Cardinals, and one-hit the Mets at Shea
Stadium in his first ML start. He went 15-8 in 1979, adding two more one-hitters
and two two-hitters. Elbow problems set in during 1980, and he was dumped on the
Indians the following November.
