Maranda went 18-6 as one of a trio of Quebecois pitchers at Louisville (American Association) in 1959, with Ron Piche and Claude Raymond. The Giants then drafted him from the Braves, but sent him down to make room for rookie Juan Marichal. Maranda appeared in 32 games for the Twins in 1962. (MC)
