Desperate for catching, the 1934 White Sox signed Madjeski, just released by the A's, after he convinced them his arm was sound. But catching his first series, Madjeski caused a Chicago loss with a bad throw and allowed Boston 11 stolen bases in three games. For the last-place 1934 White Sox, he was the best of five who shared catching duty. (RL)
