» June 3, 1993: Seattle selects SS Alex Rodriguez of Westminster Christian HS in Miami with the 1st pick in the amateur draft. Rodriguez hit .417 with 17 homers and 90 stolen bases. The Brewers get pitchers Jeff D'Amico and Kelly Wunsch with two 1st round picks. Both will prove injury prone, but they do take SS Mark Loretta on the 7th round. The Phils take Scott Rolen on the 2nd round; the Braves select Kevin Millwood (11th) and John Rocker (18th), while the Indians take Richie Sexson (24th). » July 17, 1999: The Brewers defeat the Royals, 11-3, as 1B Mark Loretta strokes five hits, including a double and home run, brings home four runs, and scores three himself.
» May 11, 2000:
The Brewers defeat the Cubs, 14-8, in the longest 9-inning game in NL history. The four hour and 22 minute contest features 35 hits and 19 walks. Mark Loretta is 5-for-5 in the game, while Glenallen Hill hits a 490-foot home run which lands on the roof of a 3-story building across Waveland Avenue.
» May 25, 2001: More one-hitters. At Wrigley, the Cubs edge the Brewers, 1-0, on Kerry Wood's one-hitter. Mark Loretta's single in the 7th is the only Milwaukee hit. Wood strikes out 14. The Cubs staff has now thrown back-to-back one hitters: it was last done by the Rangers, in 1996, when Ken Hill and Roger Pavlik did it.
» August 31, 2002:
The Astros acquire free–agent–to–be Mark Loretta from the Brewers for cash and a player to be named. In two days, the player turns out to be Keith Ginter, hitting .264 at New Orleans.
