» The Day I Turned The Mesas On Two Angels by Darren Viola

Llenas interrupted his career as one of the Mexican League's greatest third basemen to spend five seasons with the Angels, primarily as a pinch hitter. In 1973, he led the AL in pinch hit at-bats (56) and hits (16), with a .269 batting average overall. A top slugger in the Mexican League before his ML stint, he returned there in 1977 for seven more seasons, including three .300 years. (MC)
