To fill in for the injured McGwire, the Cardinals pick up vet 1B Will Clark from the Orioles for 3B Jose Leon. The Cardinals also obtain C Carlos Hernandez from the Padres in exchange for P Heathcliff Slocumb. Two minor leaguers are also involved in the deal.
