    FROM THE BASEBALL CHRONOLOGY
» July 22, 1993: Kansas City's Greg Gagne hits a home run off Detroit's Mark Leiter in the Royals' 12-6 victory. The home run is the 10,000th hit in the long history of Tiger Stadium, making it the 1st ballpark to reach that figure. During the game, Detroit 3B Travis Fryman draws a walk off KC P Enrique Burgos, then proceeds to circle the bases on three wild pitches by Burgos.

» April 27, 1996: Barry Bonds hits two homers, the 300th and 301st of his career, then with the Giants leading 6–1, he is tossed out of the game for disputing a 6th-inning, 3rd-strike call. Bonds is only the 4th major leaguer to hit 300 homers and steal 300 bases, joining his father Bobby Bonds, his godfather Willie Mays, and Andre Dawson. Bonds Sr. is the first base coach today, filling in for Jim Davenport, while Dawson, playing left field for the Marlins, has the best view of the two homers. Mark Leiter (2–3) allows six hits for the 6–3 win, with Rod Beck getting the final out.

» July 30, 1996: The Giants trade P Mark Leiter (4–10) to the Expos for pitchers Tim Scott and Kirk Rueter.

» September 7, 1996: In the Expos 2–1 win over the Marlins, Marlin LF Joe Orsulak throws out three runners in a span of five batters. He throws out two Expos at the plate on consecutive plays to end the 3rd, and throws out another in the 4th. Mark Leiter, 4–0, since being traded from San Francisco on July 30, picks up the win.

» November 9, 1998: The Mariners trade P Paul Spoljaric to the Phillies in exchange for P Mark Leiter.

» March 26, 2001: The Mets trade P Mark Leiter to the Rockies for P Brian Rose. Rose will make three appearances for the Mets before being waived to the Marlins.

» April 4, 2001: The Colorado Rockies send pitchers Mark Leiter and Mike DeJean, and IF Elvis Pena, to the Milwaukee Brewers for pitchers Juan Acevedo and Kane Davis, and IF Jose Flores.
