Lapp was a platooned or backup catcher on four Philadelphia A's pennant winners in five seasons (1910-11, 13-14). In 1911 he was the top-hitting AL catcher, with a .353 mark in 68 games. He died of pneumonia at age thirty-five. (NLM)
