Signed out of the Dominican Republic as an outfielder, the speedy Landestoy became a utility man in the majors. In his best season, he hit .270 for the Astros as their regular second baseman for most of 1979. He followed in 1980 with 23 stolen bases, again in a utility role. (MC)
